Nationally recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the "Art. Write. Now. DC 2018-19 and Museums: pARTners in Learning" exhibit, this month-long poetry unit explores the connections between Impressionism and poetry. Students learn how to define, identify, and create examples of figurative language as they interact with both poetry and works of visual art. This unit incorporates an in-person (or virtual) visit to a museum, and the final project challenges students to create original poetry and artwork. This unit is leveled for grades 6-12.
