Turn the research process into an adventure for students by engaging them in the investigation of topics they want to study! As students embark on this three-week project, they are challenged to determine their own topic and formulate their own driving questions. Over the course of their work, they learn how to format bibliography and note cards, take “good” bullet notes, and create a works cited page. Students also benefit from getting, giving, and applying feedback. The focus of the final presentation is on their experience of the research process rather than on the facts they discovered about their topic. This project is leveled for grades 5-8.
